What is a Parent School Liaison?
Hello, my name is Susan Kamrath. I am the Canby Public School's Parent School Liaison. This new position was created by Canby Public Schools in partnership with PACT 4 Families Collaborative through the S.H.A.R.E. grant. I believe parents' are a VITAL part of their children's education. The success of a child in school is greatly enhanced by the involvement of their parents/guardians. I am available to work with any family, parent or student to maximize the education experience.
This position was created to promote parent involvement in their child’s school and education. I help parents develop communication and trust with the local school district and the community system of care. I assist parents by providing information about locating resources and developing the skills necessary to advocate for their individual, family and cultural needs within the school and community.
