Christmas Poetry

Our Fourth Grade class celebrated the Christmas season by writing "wishes" poetry, a type of poem that follows a pattern. The students selected people who were important to them and shared a Christmas wish the student had for that person. Some of the students even shared a wish for the world.

We also wrote a holiday shape poem. As a class, we brainstormed a list of words that come to mind during this time of the year. Each student then selected words from their shared lists to write a poem in the shape of a Christmas tree.
