Pippi Longstocking
Oh, the tales we write....
The fourth grade students enjoyed listening to Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren as Mrs. Hoyme read the antics of this freckled-face girl to the class. In addition, the students enjoyed a story in the basal reader entitled "Pippi Moves In."
Pippi Longstocking, a remarkably, independent girl, lives in a tumbledown house with her pet monkey, Mr. Nilsson, and her pet horse. Pippi's unique way of doing things fascinates her next-door neighbors, Tommy and Annika, drawing them into some very unusual adventures. She lives by herself, has a zest for the extraordinary, and is always living life to its fullest.
We wanted to write our own book of antics with Pippi as the star. We thought she may enjoy coming to our school, meeting our students and staff, and having some new adventures. We hope you enjoy reading our imaginative tales about this colorful character.
