Math activities:

We are finishing up our unit on multiplication.  We have just a few more quizzes to take.  We will be celebrating our unit with an ice cream sundae party.  Ask your child how they will be acquiring the makings for their own personal sundae.  We will be checking the kids for about one more week and will probably having our sundaes during the first week of February.  I keep reminding the kids to spend time with their flash cards each night.

This week we will be starting the unit of division.  We spend the week learning what division means.  Next week will be the start of division facts, so you can see how important it is that they have their multiplication facts mastered.

Spelling: The lists for February are out.  This semester I will be scoring the challenge words along with the list.

Centers:
  • Homophone contraction game and page for Homophone class book
  • Counting coins
  • Snowy day picture with punctuation sentence strips
