Washington
DC, Rural Electric Youth Tour
-
In the past this trip
was only available to a dependent child of a cooperative member.
However, we have decided to open the tour up to all interested
Juniors/Seniors within the Lyon-Lincoln Service Territory. So all of
your students are now eligible.
-
Lyon-Lincoln
Electric Cooperative, pays all the expenses for a trip to Washington, DC
and the Minnesota Rural Electric Association coordinates the events.
The 2008 Youth Tour dates are June 14-19, 2008.
-
This tour is
available to any students completing their Sophomore or Junior year in
High School. Students must also be at least 16 years of age prior to
June 9, 2008.
-
Applicants must
complete a 1-hour open book test. Depending on the number of entries,
an essay or interview may be required. I’ve included some study guides,
brochures and a poster. If you have interested students, please let me
know and I will send copies of the test.
