11TH GRADE: ASVAB Test & Interpretation
The ASVAB is a military entrance test that has a FREE interest
inventory component to the test, which complements the Career
Match Party Game and IDEAS Interest Inventory which is done in
grades 7 and 8 respectively.
ACCUPLACER Test & Interpretation
The Accuplacer test measures abilities in reading, math and writing.
This test is given so that students may evaluate their academic areas,
so that they may seek additional classes to help strengthen their
weak areas and see their strengths.
MCIS School sort in February to identify which school
has the program they are interested in.
ACT Prep Class offered in March
ACT Tests given in October and April
Options Beyond High School Career Planning Guide & Career Unit
12TH GRADE: SELF-DIRECTED SEARCH (optional interest inventory)
First week of school, hand out transcripts to verify and update
if necessary. Discuss retaking the ACT and scholarship benefits of
getting a 24 on the ACT test. A multitude of other items are discussed
as is printed on the Senior Visit Day Agenda. See that link.
Re-interpret the previous interest, abilities, and values
tests during post-secondary counseling appointments. These tests are
kept in a Career portfolio in the Counseling Office.

Minnesota Careers Booklet (Job outlooks for many careers in
different fields)
Senior "D Day" - conference visit with 5 seniors at a time on Dec.1
Discussion on "D Day" is where are they at in their post-secondary
planning?
January - (2nd week) Financial Aid night for seniors and their
parents.
Mid-January - due date for many post-secondary school's scholarship
applications.
February - Local scholarship info. is handed out in a senior required
class.
March 15 - Local scholarship application is due.
Middle of May is the Senior Art Show & Blue and Gold Awards
Program.
May 25 - Deadline for Seniors to indicate what school they will be
attending.
June 15 - Senior Final transcripts are sent to colleges.
