Canby Learning Model Update

November 17, 2020

Dear Canby Public Schools parents and families,

Yesterday, the Incident Command Team met to review the state, county, and district COVID data along with the effectiveness of mitigation strategies.  After reviewing the data and learning model options, the team made the decision to continue with the enhanced in-person learning model.

Over the past few days, the district office has received some inquiries about the possibility of moving to a distance-learning model.  Please know that at this time, there is no plan to schedule distance learning days into the calendar.  The district and team will continue to monitor the data and if necessary will make the change to a hybrid or distance learning model.  This move could occur at any time, so it is important to have a plan for you and your family in case we make this change.

Sincerely,

Ryan Nielsen

Superintendent
