Dear Parents/Guardians,
Canby Elementary is so excited to have the students back in the building tomorrow. Just some reminders as we start the school year:
1. The Elementary doors will open at 7:50 a.m. in which the students should enter the building through the appropriate doors. There will be no supervision on the playground since the students should grab his/her breakfast when entering the building and proceed to his/her room.
Door #1-First Grade, Sixth Grade, Preschool
Door #2-Second Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade
Door #3-Head Start, Kindergarten, Third Grade
2. Parents/Guardians are also reminded when dropping off students that there will be adults outside the building to drop your student off.
3. Students are required to wear face coverings inside the building.
4. A reminder for lunch that the students will be offered two different lunches or students may bring in his/her own sack lunch.
5. At the end of the day, students will exit through the same doors they entered in the morning. Parents are asked to wait outside on the parallel side walk to the school and not up by the doors to help students exit the building without congestion. The dismissal schedule is as follows:
Preschool, Kindergarten & First Grade-3:04
Second Grade-3:05
Third Grade & Fourth Grade-3:06

Parents/Guardians -
Canby Public Schools will be complying with the requirements and guidance set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Department of Education, the CDC, and Countryside Public Health.
We are asking that parents screen their child using the attached "Daily Home Screening" tool (attached to this email).
- By sending their child to school, parents/guardians are confirming that their child does not have any symptoms listed.
- A visual inspection of students and staff will be done at the start of and throughout the school day.
- Any student or staff member showing signs of illness will have their temperature taken and a full assessment done.
- If a student or staff member has "one more common" or "two less common" symptoms listed on the guidance sheet, they will be relocated to a designated quarantine area until they can be picked up from school.
Also attached to this email you will find:
- Daily Home Screening Tool for Parents
- Canby Public Schools COVID-19 Guidance (which mirrors the guidance set by MDH)
- What To Do While You Wait For COVID-19 Test Results
** A hard copy of the COVID-19 Guidance and Daily Screening Tool will be sent home with the students as soon as they are printed and available **
